Bedtime Adventures
Pickly Pickly's Shoebox World began as bedtime stories shared with my daughter, Demmye, when she was five years old. Inspired by her love of pickles, imagination, and adventure, the name “Pickly Pickly” quickly became part of the magical world we created together.
One night, Demmye imagined Pickly Pickly living inside a tiny shoebox tucked safely beneath her bed.
A cozy, magical place where endless adventures could begin while still feeling warm and protected. That simple childhood idea became the heart of the story.
As our bedtime adventures grew, so did Pickly Pickly's world.
The farm animals, grandparents, and countryside setting were inspired by a real farm we passed each day on the way to Demmye's Pre-K school.
At its heart, this story is about building tiny worlds from big imaginations, one shoebox at a time.
